Event Update For 2017-10-20

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

[humans excel in killing themselves along with other life]

With the honey harvest in France down to just 10,000 tons this year - three times less than in the 1990s - the country's national apiculture union, UNAF, slammed what it called the "scandalous" authorisation of sulfaoxaflor, which attacks the central nervous system of insects. According to UNAF, sulfaoxaflor acts like a neonicotinoid, a pesticide based on the chemical structure of nicotine that many blame for being at least partially responsible for plummeting bee populations.

Neonicotinoids currently cover more than a fifth of French crops with 70 per cent of seeds from cooperatives already coated in the product. [more]

The global ecosystem is rapidly collapsing… insect biomass plummets 75% in one generation… scientists warn of “decimation”… humanity may not survive much longer
    http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2017/10/ecological-armageddon-insect-abundance.html

[the lede story we've seen a few days ago, but he adds this one]

For years, I’ve warned that humanity is a suicide cult which has engineered its own destruction by relentlessly poisoning the natural world with chemical pesticides, heavy metals and GMOs. Now, the collapse of living systems across the planet is accelerating like never before, with ocean fisheries collapsing by the day, topsoil vanishing by the inch, and wildlife populations being decimated by the accelerating destruction of habitat.

Humanity, it seems, has broken the planet, and the mass die-offs are now impossible to ignore. Adding even more weight to the horrifying realization that humanity is committing mass ecological suicide, a new study published in the science journal PLoS One has documented a 75 percent decline in insect biomass over rural Germany in just the last 27 years.

The food web is now collapsing… insects are just the beginning[more]

  4. 300 million years ago, the formation of coal almost turned Earth into a snowball – “By burning the coal, the CO2 is again destabilizing the Earth system”
    http://www.desdemonadespair.net/2017/10/300-million-years-ago-formation-of-coal.html

While burning coal today causes Earth to overheat, about 300 million years ago the formation of that same coal brought our planet close to global glaciation. For the first time, scientists show the massive effect in a study published in the renowned Proceedings of the US Academy of Sciences. When trees in vast forests died during a time called the Carboniferous and the Permian, the carbon dioxide (CO2) they took up from the atmosphere while growing got buried; the plants’ debris over time formed most of the coal that today is used as fossil fuel. Consequently, the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere sank drastically and Earth cooled down to a degree it narrowly escaped what scientists call a ‘snowball state’. [more]

These volunteer nurses in Puerto Rico fear FEMA is failing – “These people are going to die. The help is not really there for them.”
    http://www.desdemonadespair.net/2017/10/these-volunteer-nurses-in-puerto-rico.html

Water is rationed. Scabies is spreading. Grocery stores are lined with empty shelves, if they’re open at all. People are fainting as they wait in lines for hours in sweltering heat, because they have to check into a FEMA hub to get small amounts of food and supplies being guarded by armed officers. That’s if they can even make it to FEMA.

FEMA and military personnel have been leading relief efforts, but from the looks of it, something isn’t working. It’s been more than three weeks since the hurricane hit, and 36 percent of people still don’t have drinking water, according to a government website updated daily. About 84 percent still don’t have power.
And that’s if you think the data are accurate. In a phone interview, Schwartz and Richards laughed as HuffPost read aloud statistics from the government site. They say it’s way worse.
“That’s lies,” said Schwartz, 54. “First of all, we don’t even know if the water is drinkable. Where is FEMA collecting this information? This is not what we’re seeing.” [more]

A crash now will cause maximum pain to the denialist idiots who will believe anything and anyone, except the truth. Trump is a litmus test to separate those who will believe anyone including human history's biggest fraud, poser, and pretender...

The one thing that 1987, Y2K, 2008, and 2015 all have in common is that the Idiocracy didn't learn their lesson. This will fix the problem, at the source. Whereas 2008 was the story of Wall Street collecting self-imploding (subprime) yield using other people's money, this is the exact same thing. Same movie, better ending. And we know they never remember the ending...

Vegetable company recalls products across United States, Canada after listeria found
    http://www.miamiherald.com/living/food-drink/article180089836.html

    October 20, 2017 7:16 PM
Mann Packing has made a double nationwide recall -- United States and Canada -- of over 20 vegetable products because they may be contaminated with listeria.

While the FDA posted recall notice says no public agencies have linked any individual’s sickness with the products, the listeria may be out of the barn. The Best By dates on the products are Oct. 12 through Friday. The recall posted Thursday evening and FDA notification e-mails went out late Friday morning.

Listeria infections can be fatal in the young, the elderly, anyone with damaged immune systems and can cause pregnancy miscarriages or stillbirths. Normal, healthy people usually suffer flu-like symptoms such as high fever, harsh headaches, nausea and diarrhea. [more; every product says "Mann's" on it]
